SMALL GROUPS

At Collinsville First Baptist, we believe life is better when you share it with others. Small Groups are where faith and friendship come together — a place to grow in your walk with Christ, build meaningful relationships, and encourage one another through life’s ups and downs.

Small Group Types

Sunday School Groups

These groups meet on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM for ongoing discipleship for all ages.

SN@C Classes

These groups meet on Sunday nights at 6:00 PM for 6- to 8-week studies on practical Christian topics. Offered three times a year: Jan–Feb, Jun-Jul, & Aug–Sep.

Life Groups

These groups meet on Sunday nights— primarily in homes, usually at 6:00 PM—to build meaningful relationships and discuss how to live out the truths of the morning’s sermon. Offered twice a year: Feb–May and Sep–Dec.

Sunday School Groups

Sunday School is the heartbeat of the small group ministries at CFBC. These groups meet each Sunday morning on campus at 9 a.m. to study the Bible, grow in community, pray together, and care for each other. Our current theme in Sunday School is Beyond Me. The idea comes from Philippians 2:3-4 where Paul says, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Beyond Me helps give Sunday School a fresh focus as we learn to go beyond ourselves in outreach, discipleship, and service.

No matter what season of life you are in or what group preference you may have, there is a group for you in CFBC Sunday School. Groups are typically created based on gender, age, individual/couples/coed, and curriculum preference. We can help you get plugged in to the class that is right for you. We feel that Sunday School groups are vital to our efforts in helping you be a disciple of Jesus Christ.

SN@C Classes

SN@C Classes (Sunday Nights @ Collinsville) are another part of Small Group Ministries at CFBC. We use SN@C Classes to equip and disciple God’s people to help them better serve and grow as believers. SN@C Classes are usually 6-week classes offered at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters and during the summer. These classes, when they meet, are on campus at 6:00 PM on Sundays. We seek to offer at least one opportunity of study in the areas of marriage and family, leader training, evangelism training, theological studies, women’s and men’s studies, spiritual disciplines, and general interest studies during the year.

Registration for SN@C Classes will begin a month to six weeks ahead of the start time. Many of the classes offer a study guide (paid for by class members) while others either have no study guide or handouts are provided. We believe God will continue to use SN@C Classes to help us grow and serve in His Kingdom.

Life Groups

When it comes to building relationships and going deeper into the scriptures, Life Groups deliver. Life Groups are groups that meet in the fall and spring either in the homes of some our church members or on the church campus. These groups meet in the late afternoon or evening for the purpose of fellowship, prayer, and discussion about the sermon preached that morning. Life Group Leaders use a series of discussion questions put together by our Lead Pastor to help group members interact and consider the meaning and application of the scriptures used in the morning sermon. opportunity of study in the areas of marriage and family, leader training, evangelism training, theological studies, women’s and men’s studies, spiritual disciplines, and general interest studies during the year.

Life Groups may include couples, multi-generational groups, families, individuals, or you may choose a group based on location. Most groups share some kind of meal or snacks together. If there are young children involved, group members may share in the responsibilities of caring for them. Teenagers or older elementary students will either form their own group in the home or simply join with adults in the home.

Although Life Groups do not meet year-round, these groups help us in our efforts to have robust Small Group Ministry at CFBC.
