MISSIONS

At Collinsville First Baptist Church, missions is not a department of our church—it is the heartbeat of our church. We go because the gospel transforms. Christ changes lives and renews generations, compelling us to carry His hope of salvation to others.

Guiding Generations to Pursue Christ Across the Street, Amongst Our Nation, and Around the World

Because the gospel is for all peoples, we joyfully join God in His mission to make disciples locally, nationally, and globally. Every believer, every generation, and every ministry has a part to play in taking the hope of Jesus to the nations.

Across the Street

The community of Collinsville and its surrounding region is our primary mission field. God has placed us here to reach our neighbors for Christ. We believe that missions starts at home and then extends to the ends of the earth. As missionary C.T. Studd famously said, “The light that shines farthest shines brightest nearest home.”

So we begin where God has planted us. Our church family regularly engages in ministries that bless our community and open doors for gospel conversations.

Local initiatives include:

  • Local evangelism and neighbor-to-neighbor ministry
  • School partnerships and support for teachers
  • Benevolence ministries for families in need
  • Community events and outreach initiatives
  • Support of the Center for Pregnancy Choices, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Good News Global Christian Prison Ministry, and compassion-based ministries

Amongst Our Nation

The gospel compels us to look beyond our own community and invest in the spiritual needs of our nation. From Mississippi to major U.S. cities, CFBC is committed to strengthening churches, serving communities, and training the next generation of disciple-makers across America.

For decades, we have joyfully sent students, adults, and skilled teams to serve in diverse contexts—from inner-city outreach to church construction to coastal community ministry. These projects allow our people to experience hands-on mission work, grow in compassion, and partner with faithful churches and ministries nationwide.

Our national engagement includes:

  • Student Mission Teams have recently served in Memphis, New York City, and Gulf Breeze, where students participated in community outreach, gospel conversations, kids’ ministry, and service projects. New opportunities and destinations are being explored each year.
  • Builders for Christ, a ministry we’ve participated in since 1978, sending skilled tradesmen and laborers to assist with church construction and renovation across the country.
    • Our teams have served on 50+ projects in Mississippi, Alaska, California, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, and Wyoming
  • Ongoing partnerships with ministries and churches seeking to advance the gospel in their local settings.

Through these efforts, our church invests in strengthening the spiritual fabric of our nation—one congregation, one city, and one mission team at a time.

Around the World

The heart of God beats for the nations, and so does the heart of Collinsville First Baptist Church. As we follow Jesus’ command to “make disciples of all nations,” we are committed to global partnerships that build up the Church and bring the hope of Christ to people around the world.

Rather than chasing scattered, one-off trips, we focus on long-term, relational partnerships that allow us to serve consistently, invest deeply, and encourage the work of the gospel abroad.

Our global mission focus includes:

  • Grace Church — Kidderminster, United Kingdom
Partnering with a faithful church in one of the most secularized regions of the Western world, strengthening their evangelism, discipleship, leadership development, and community outreach efforts.
